I got to school at 7:30 this morning, just to avoid the cold, and the bus. But then I spent a good amount of time walking around in the general area around Hub's trailer so I could see the cast list. Now, I knew I didn't have a spectacular lead, or anything to that affect, but I wanted to see if Zach got the lead, and if Blake got the part he wanted (Because, in my opinion, Blake is probably the most worthy of getting the role he wants.) So, as a reward for my waiting, I ended up being the first person to see the cast list...and what should appear, but Billy.....Carlos Nieto. Oh well, I'm not really surprised, Carlos always complained he'd never gotten a lead before, and he was a senior, and....well, I know Hub heard it all, and adores Carlos anyway.....so I continue looking, and Blake didn't have Sir Evelan (but Zach's little brother was the understudy....he must be SOME singer...) I continued, and Zach got the part of Moon. Now I was happy for Zach and his role, and I had really known all along that he wouldn't get the lead because he had it last year. But I was also disappointed that Blake didn't get the role. He would have been spectacular, I'm sure. I continued to look, and there it was Cameramen/women.....Megan Carrol, Ashley Bowman, Sarah Sheppard. I did a double take, and then thought to myself, "Wait, isn't that the write-in role Ashley and Megan got last year? Have I moved up from chorus to write-in role, or really, isn't it a step down into a pity role?" I couldn't help but chuckle to myself at my "role" as I heard Carlos and his fan girls near the trailer. I finished scanning, signed my initials at the proper locations, and squeezed past all the lead chorus people. As I turned the corner towards the 200, I thought to myself, "Kate is going to be pissed, if she wasn't mad enough already." Dang chorus supremacy..................
